Welcome to Friendship Riding Stables Ltd.
Friendship Stables is located in the heart of a 500 acre, old coconut plantation in Tobago offering trail rides through the property and along the beach.
The diverse Kilygwyn wetlands area and the picturesque Canoe bay border the estate, this stretch of naturally sheltered Atlantic coastline was home to a thriving indigenous community in pre-Columbian times – and it’s easy to see why.
Friendship Stables is presently home to 10 happy horses.
Asides from offering beautiful treks throughout the estate and along the beach we offer private tuition to those keen to learn the joys of horse back riding. We do welcome the complete novice to the highly experienced rider. When you come to ride with us safety is one of our highest priorities so we do give a brief riding lesson before leaving the stables to embark on a trek. Our horses are known to be extremely calm and gentle so even the youngest rider will feel at peace with our lovely horses.
Friendship Stables have enjoyed partaking in beautiful events such as weddings. We have found that people enjoy marrying with an alternative twist to their day and this may be one way to do so.
We have also worked with special needs children, horse back riding seems to give them an air of confidence, horses seem to relate well to children, this may be due to the fact that they have little fear towards these rather large but splendid animals. Studies have been done that show that people with learning disabilities seem to excel when working with animals, horse riding is one way of doing this. Horses have shown to be extremely sensitive animals so we here at Friendship are not surprised to see their positive effects they have on all people that show compassion to them.
We have also worked at special events, both with children and at religious occasions.
We here at Friendship Stables also enjoy the fact that we are a Stud Farm. At present we have one young foal, which is an absolute joy to be around. We are waiting patiently on another 2 of our mares to give birth to their little ones. We offer the facilities for anyone with a brood mare that they wish to serve with a beautiful thoroughbred stallion named Sweet Man, to contact us.
Friendship Stables also offer the opportunity to break in young horses, to bring them to a comfortable riding standard. Our highly qualified team is presently working on our 3 year old colt, Sky Dancer. This takes time and patients.
Our stables are only a 10 minute drive from Crown Point Airport, we are easy to find but when you reach us you feel as though you are in the middle of dense country side. It’s peaceful and extremely relaxing to be around our well trained horses. If you are a lover of animals and feel to enjoy Tobago’s nature why not try something fun and different. Feel free to come and meet our friendly horses.
